Council for Higher Education in the Colonies. President of the General Medical Council (Sir Herbert Eason) is also a member and we have an observer from the Foreign Office. There has only been one meeting of the Committee to date but for your confidential information the Committee were fairly unanimous in their view that the University should not be reopened before 1947. This view will of course be considerat further meetings before it is put forward as a firm recommendation but I mention it now in order to indicate the possibility that there may be some delay.
